Benefits of CRP Land Management and Working with Tallgrass

CRP Land Management in Kansas City and St Joseph, MO is a land conservation program administered by the Farm Service Agency or FSA, a division of the USDA. In exchange for a yearly payment received for land rental, farmers enrolled in the program agree to remove environmentally sensitive land from agricultural production and in their place, plant species that will improve environmental health and quality.

What is CRP Land Management?

Enacted by President Ronald Reagan in 1985, Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) is one of the largest private-lands conservation programs in the United States. Thanks to voluntary participation by farmers and landowners, CRP has achieved significant goals in conservation and sustainability.

Contracts for land enrolled in CRP vary between 10 to 15 years in length. The FSA explains, “The long-term goal of the program is to re-establish valuable land cover to help improve water quality, prevent soil erosion, and reduce loss of wildlife habitat”.
